Visit to the Rietveld Schröder house
01 Dec 2017 - 01 Dec 2017
Rietveld Schröderhouse, Utrecht
A lab visit to the Rietveld Schröder house (for fun and to do some user testing)
As Joost Overbeek as one of the lab’s student is graduating on a project on Augmented Reality for the Rietveld Schröderhouse (in collaboration with CAP Gemini and Centraal Museum, Utrecht) we as a lab took the opportunity to visit this amazing house from 1925, designed as part of the ‘Stijl’ movement.
It is truly amazing how, especially the flexible interior of the top floor of the house was designed. Also it was fascinating how Rietveld’s ideas about not designing walls, but open spaces was translated into the design of the house.
While we were there Joost took the opportunity to let us try out one of his initial ideas for how to implement AR in the house.
