Money laundering is an essential aspect for criminals that commit serious crimes. Tackling money laundering is therefore of great importance for the effective fight against all kinds of serious crimes. Most criminals simply want to make as much money as possible
regardless of the consequences for others and then - out of sight of all investigative authorities - enjoy this money undisturbed.
In this graduation project, there is a close collaboration with Testlab, the innovation unit of the Public Prosecution Service (Openbaar Ministerie). The main goal of the project is to identify the complex system of money laundering and to find intervention opportunities to support the Public Prosecution Service in tackling money laundering cases.
