The Hidden Gems project focused on innovative experiences in very small, local museums. Hidden Gems (Verborgen Pareltjes, in Dutch) stands for very small museums that are usually ran by volunteers only. They are often hard to find, but have a flavor of authenticity. Their size and the fact that they are run by volunteers makes it difficult for them to innovate. The project was done in with the provincial heritage institutions Erfgoedhuis Zuid-Holland and Erfgoedbrabant, as well as with Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS).
