Systemic Design Meetup #2: Design for Mental Models
27 Nov 2025 15:00 - 17:00
Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken, Rotterdam
What shapes the way we see the world—and how can systemic design reshape it?
On the 27th of November, we will be gathering at Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken in Rotterdam for our next Meetup as part of the Systemic Design Network: a space where we explore how to close the gap between theory and practice in systemic design. Systemic design draws from systems thinking and complexity science—powerful perspectives that can help us navigate complex societal challenges and transitions. Yet putting these ideas into practice often proves difficult. The Network is a place to collectively reflect, learn, and experiment with ways to make systemic design more actionable.
This edition focuses on “Design for Mental Models”. We will explore how the often invisible beliefs, assumptions, and worldviews that shape our thinking can be surfaced, challenged, and transformed through design. How do we help people see beyond their current frames of reference?
