Pictorial Research Lab

The pictorial research lab investigates and designs pictorial information in various domains and disciplines. We study both the history and the future of image making from a wide variety of perspectives, and actively contribute to the fields of digital heritage and visual communication. 
The lab uses a broad definition of ‘pictures’ which allows us to draw parallels across various different domains, cultures and histories. We concentrate on the following three sub-themes: Pictures as data, pictures vs reality and pictures in context.
